Berrybridge Housing has officially amalgamated with its parent housing association Riverside.
The Riverside Group has undergone a restructure, which has seen eight pre-existing housing associations, including Berrybridge, be amalgamated into a single entity known as Riverside.
The result is an organisation with the strengths of a national player but the personal touch of a local provider.
The reorganisation makes savings which will allow us to invest more money into improving our homes and local service delivery.
Riverside has completed a five year improvement programme in the Berrybridge area and has spent £28.5m on improving homes. We've now started on further five year project to ensure all properties meet national standards. In the last five years 1,245 tenants have been housed and over 2,400 homes refurbished in Dovecot and Deysbrook, with the number of void properties reduced from 220 to 17.
We have also completed the transformation of 16 flats in a poor state of repair Finch Dene into nine new bungalows, incorporating a remodelling of the central square.
Riverside currently has several exciting new-build initiatives in development for 2009/10 that will provide much needed new accommodation for the area.
Dovecot and Deysbrook has been transformed into an popular area of choice for tenants and a high demand for Riverside properties has developed.
At present Riverside manage 3200 properties in the Dovecot and Deysbrook area(including 608 properties in Dovecot North managed by Power Estate Management Board).
