An Equality Impact Assessment (EIA) is a way of assessing and consulting on the effects that a proposed policy is likely to have on people, based on factors such as race, disability, gender, religion, sexual orientation and age.
The EIA process helps us to ensure that equality considerations are included within all policy development from the outset and ensures that the needs of specific communities have been addressed.
Over the next three years, Riverside will carry out EIAs across all functions, policies and practices. After that, EIAs will take place in a continuous cycle in accordance with the three-year EIA timetable that is currently being developed by Riverside. This will be completed and published by December 2009.
The following EIAs were completed in 2009. If you would like further information about an assessment please contact janine.goodison@riverside.org.uk
