Riverside - Riverside plan to link-up with Scottish housing association
9 November 2009
Riverside has announced that it 's in talks with Irvine Housing Association in Ayrshire about a closer working relationship.
If successful, Irvine HA would join the Merseyside-based Group in a 'constitutional partnership', allowing it to focus more of its resources on front-line service delivery and building more homes. It would also help improve efficiency and provide the association with stronger financial back-up and risk protection. It currently has 2,000 properties.
Riverside is one of the country's leading registered social landlords, and was chosen by Irvine's board after an extensive selection process. Irvine Housing Association tenants were told about the discussions in a letter last week, and extensive consultations will be carried out before any final decision is made.
Deborah Shackleton, Riverside's Chief Executive, said she was delighted that Irvine had selected us as preferred partner: "We have a lot in common with Irvine's team, and share a similar approach and values. We are both committed to delivering the best homes and services that we can to tenants, and doing that as cost-effectively as possible – it makes sense to discuss how we can join up to improve even further."
