Riverside - About Us

A Riverside Housing property in Sefton

In eight decades Riverside has grown beyond recognition. Back in 1928 Liverpool Improved Houses owned 15 properties, employed a single housing manager and had a bank balance of £700. Fast forward to 2009 and Riverside now manages over 50,000 properties.

Riverside is a large organisation so we are divided into regional divisions to cover our work nationwide. We have seven management divisions and a shared ownership division. More information about these divisions can be found below.


Mersey North

The Mersey North division of Riverside delivers services to homes in the following local authority areas: Liverpool CC, Knowsley MBC, Sefton MBC, St Helens MBC, Wigan MBC.West Lancashire District Council and Lancashire County Council.

Mersey South

The Mersey South division of Riverside delivers services to homes in these local authority areas: Wirral MBC, Liverpool CC, Halton BC, Ellesmere Port & Neston BC, Vale Royal BC.

Midlands

The Midlands division of Riverside delivers services to homes in Leicestershire, Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire, Northamptonshire and Staffordshire.
    - Riverside also manage the Harvills Hawthorn and Millfields estates in West Bromwich on behalf of Sandwell MBC. Please click on the following link for information on services in this area, known as Hawthorn Fields.

South East

The South East Division of Riverside manages a mixed portfolio of around 3,600 properties spanning 55 local authority areas, including those in London. The Division spreads westward from Suffolk and Essex through London, the South East and the Home Counties and across to Bristol and the Welsh Borders.

Pennine

The Pennine Division of Riverside manages around 2000 mainly family homes on the Langley estate in Middleton. And delivers services in these local authority areas: Macclesfield BC and Rochdale BC.

Carlisle

The Carlisle Division of Riverside is forward thinking and community focused, providing 6,200 affordable social homes and services to people living in Carlisle and surrounding rural areas.

North East

The North East Division of Riverside was launched on 1 April 2006 following a merger between Riverside and Newcastle and Whitley Housing Trust. Riverside manages over 1000 general needs flats and houses in the North East, as well as over 300 supported housing tenancies.

Riverside Home Ownership

Riverside Home Ownership has homes in a variety of areas including Wirral, Liverpool, Manchester and the East Midlands.

Powerhouse Foyer

Powerhouse Foyer provides support and accommodation for young people aged 16-25 who are homeless or in housing difficulties. Powerhouse Foyer could be the place for you if you have not had a tenancy of your own before or if you have had one and things did not work out.
